The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming starts by placing a cast wheel onto a heated, rotating drum, where hydraulic rollers apply consistent, even pressure to the barrel. As the barrel is gradually expanded to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is compacted and realigned, significantly enhancing strength and durability. This advanced technique results in a lightweight, high-performance wheel barrel with properties similar to those of a fully forged wheel.
