The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming mounts a cast wheel on a heated, spinning mandrel while hydraulic rollers apply uniform pressure along the barrel. As it’s worked to final width, the aluminum grain compresses and realigns, producing a lighter, stronger barrel with near-forged characteristics.
