The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming begins by placing a cast wheel on a heated, rotating drum, where hydraulic rollers apply consistent, even pressure along the barrel. As the barrel is gradually stretched to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is compacted and reoriented, significantly improving strength and durability. This advanced process results in a lightweight, high-strength wheel barrel with performance characteristics comparable to a fully forged wheel.
