The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming begins by mounting a cast wheel on a heated, rotating drum while hydraulic rollers apply consistent, even pressure along the barrel. As the barrel is worked out to its final width, the aluminum grain structure is compressed and realigned, significantly increasing strength and durability. The result is a lightweight, high-strength barrel with performance characteristics comparable to a fully forged wheel.
