The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming starts by mounting a cast wheel onto a heated, spinning drum, where hydraulic rollers apply steady, uniform pressure along the barrel. As the barrel is gradually expanded to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is compressed and realigned, greatly enhancing strength and durability. This advanced manufacturing technique produces a lightweight, high-strength wheel barrel with performance traits similar to a fully forged wheel.
