The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming starts with a cast wheel locked onto a heated mandrel while hydraulic rollers apply precisely managed pressure along the barrel. As the barrel is gradually stretched to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is compressed and refined, producing a lighter, stronger barrel with performance characteristics that closely rival those of a fully forged wheel.
