The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming begins with a cast wheel mounted to a heated mandrel as hydraulic rollers apply carefully controlled pressure along the barrel. As the barrel is progressively stretched to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is densified and refined, creating a lighter, stronger barrel with performance that nearly matches a fully forged wheel.
