The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming begins with a cast wheel secured on a heated mandrel as hydraulic rollers apply tightly controlled pressure along the barrel. As the barrel is progressively stretched to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is compressed and refined, creating a lighter, stronger barrel with performance that comes very close to that of a fully forged wheel.
