The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming begins with a cast wheel secured to a heated mandrel as hydraulic rollers apply tightly controlled pressure along the barrel. As the barrel is gradually expanded to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is compressed and refined, resulting in a lighter, stronger barrel with performance that closely approaches that of a fully forged wheel.
