The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming begins with a cast wheel secured on a heated mandrel as hydraulic rollers apply controlled pressure to the barrel. As the barrel is expanded to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is compressed and strengthened, resulting in a lighter, more durable barrel with performance approaching that of a fully forged wheel.
