The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming begins with a cast wheel secured on a heated mandrel while hydraulic rollers move along the barrel, applying precisely regulated pressure. As the barrel is slowly worked out to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is compressed and refined, resulting in a lighter, stronger barrel with performance that comes very close to that of a fully forged wheel.
