The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming starts with a cast wheel clamped to a heated mandrel while hydraulic rollers travel along the barrel, applying tightly controlled pressure. As the barrel is gradually expanded to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is compacted and refined, creating a lighter, stronger barrel with performance that comes very close to a fully forged wheel.
