The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming starts with a cast wheel mounted on a heated mandrel as hydraulic rollers apply carefully controlled pressure to the barrel. As the barrel is stretched to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is compacted and refined, resulting in a lighter, stronger barrel with performance that closely rivals a fully forged wheel.
