The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming starts by mounting a cast wheel onto a heated, rotating drum, where hydraulic rollers apply steady, even pressure along the barrel. As the barrel expands to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is compressed and refined, greatly enhancing its strength and durability. This method produces a lightweight, high-performance wheel barrel with characteristics comparable to a fully forged wheel.
