VF Engineering’s Supercharger System for the Porsche 997.1, an evolution of the 2002 Porsche 996 program, significantly enhances the vehicle’s performance without sacrificing daily drivability or reliability. Featuring the Vortech V3 Supercharger capable of delivering linear power to redline and boosting output by over 125 crank horsepower, the system integrates seamlessly using a precision-engineered billet bracket made from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum. Engineered for quiet operation and calibrated to a conservative 6 psi to ensure durability, this supercharger setup enhances the 997.1’s performance while maintaining the engine’s long-term reliability.
VF Engineering introduces its Supercharger System for the Porsche 997.1, building on the success of the 2002 Porsche 996 supercharger program. Embodying VF Engineering’s core philosophy of maintaining daily drivability without compromising reliability, this system elevates the 997.1 with a substantial performance boost. Central to the system is the Vortech V3 Supercharger, selected for its capacity to deliver linear power up to redline and add over 125 crank horsepower. The system includes a precision-engineered billet supercharger mounting bracket, crafted using CAD software and CNC-manufactured from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, ensuring a seamless fit using OEM bolt patterns without necessitating any alterations or relocation of engine components. The V3 model SCi-Trim supercharger unit, chosen after extensive consultation with Vortech engineers, features helical-cut gears for ultra-quiet operation, rendering it virtually silent when the engine compartment is closed. Despite being capable of a maximum 20 psi and 1000 cfm, the supercharger is calibrated to a conservative 6 psi to ensure long-term durability and reliability.
VF Engineering’s meticulous design retains the use of the OEM spring-loaded belt tensioner and optimizes serpentine belt routing to preserve correct accessory rotation and maximize pulley friction. The advanced air-to-water intercooler, integrated into the compact engine bay, reduces boost temperatures, thereby enhancing engine safety and improving combustion. This charge cooler incorporates isolated water channels cooled by a separate system that includes a Porsche OEM front radiator, front bumper vents, and an OEM Bosch water pump circulating through OEM Goodyear water lines. Even under extreme conditions, such as the Arizona desert at 118°F, intake air temperatures stay around 140°F, ensuring consistent and reliable power output. For additional reliability, the charge cooler system operates continuously while the ignition is on, providing dependable performance with every drive. Experience a new level of performance with VF Engineering’s Supercharger System for the Porsche 997.1.
