VF Engineering’s Supercharger System for the Porsche 997.1, building on the success of their 2002 Porsche 996 program, significantly boosts performance while maintaining daily drivability and reliability. The system centers around the Vortech V3 Supercharger, which delivers linear power up to redline and adds over 125 crank horsepower, integrated via a precision-engineered billet bracket made from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum. This supercharger is equipped with helical-cut gears for quiet operation and is calibrated to a conservative 6 psi to ensure durability, seamlessly enhancing the 997.1 without any need for engine modifications.
VF Engineering introduces its Supercharger System for the Porsche 997.1, building upon the success of the 2002 Porsche 996 supercharger program. Adhering to VF Engineering’s core philosophy of daily drivability without compromising reliability, this system enhances the 997.1 with a significant performance boost. Central to the system is the Vortech V3 Supercharger, chosen for its ability to deliver linear power to redline, adding over 125 crank horsepower. The system includes a precision-engineered billet supercharger mounting bracket, crafted using CAD software and CNC-manufactured from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, which fits perfectly using OEM bolt patterns and requires no modifications or relocation of engine components. The V3 model SCi-Trim supercharger unit, equipped with helical-cut gears for ultra-quiet operation, ensures the system is virtually silent when the engine compartment is closed. Although capable of a maximum 20 psi and 1000 cfm, the supercharger is calibrated to a conservative 6 psi to promote long-term durability and reliability.
VF Engineering’s meticulous design retains the use of the OEM spring-loaded belt tensioner and optimizes serpentine belt routing to preserve correct accessory rotation and maximize pulley friction. An advanced air-to-water intercooler, integrated into the tight engine bay, reduces boost temperatures, thereby enhancing engine safety and improving combustion. This charge cooler features isolated water channels, cooled by a separate system that includes a Porsche OEM front radiator, front bumper vents, and an OEM Bosch water pump circulating through OEM Goodyear water lines. Even in extreme conditions, such as the Arizona desert at 118°F, intake air temperatures stay around 140°F, ensuring consistent and reliable power output. The charge cooler system operates continuously while the ignition is on, ensuring dependable performance with every drive. Experience a new level of performance with VF Engineering’s Supercharger System for the Porsche 997.1.
