How much power does the VF ECU Software for 4M Audi RS Q8 add?

VF Engineering quotes 770 hp and 700 lb-ft from its ECU Software for 4M Audi RS Q8 models. The torque gain over the factory 590 lb-ft is 110 lb-ft, and the extra power comes from revised boost, ignition and fueling on the factory turbochargers.

Does the software need new turbochargers?

No. The calibration runs on the factory turbochargers and needs no hardware. Owners who want more than software can move to the VF1000 twin turbo system for the RS Q8, which replaces the turbochargers and carries its own much higher rating.

How is the RS Q8 software installed?

VF Engineering installs the calibration at its Anaheim facility in Southern California or through an authorized VF dealer. Bulletproof Automotive coordinates the appointment with VF after the order is placed, so the vehicle can be booked in on a convenient date.

Is the RS Q8 related to the Lamborghini Urus engine?

Yes. The RS Q8 and the Urus share a 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 and much of their platform. VF Engineering writes separate calibrations for each vehicle, however, so the RS Q8 file should be ordered for an RS Q8 rather than the Urus version.

Does the calibration affect daily drivability?

VF Engineering designs the calibration for both daily driving and harder use. The RS Q8 keeps its factory gearbox, drive modes and hardware, and the main change in everyday driving is noticeably stronger pull from low and middle engine speeds, where the V8 spends most of its time.

Description

VF Engineering Performance ECU Software for 4M Audi RS Q8

VF Engineering’s Performance ECU Software for 4M Audi RS Q8 is one of the most ambitious calibrations VF sells without new hardware. The RS Q8 shares its 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with the Lamborghini Urus, and VF quotes 770 hp and 700 lb-ft with the software installed, a torque figure 110 lb-ft above the factory 590 lb-ft. Boost, ignition and fueling are all revised, so the gain is felt across the whole range rather than near the redline alone. On a vehicle of this size, that extra torque is what shortens every overtake. It is for the RS Q8 owner who wants the most the factory turbochargers can give before stepping up to a full turbo system.

About VF Engineering

VF Engineering designs supercharger and turbocharger systems, titanium exhausts and ECU and TCU calibrations from a 15,000 sq ft facility in Anaheim, Orange County, California, where it has been based for nearly two decades. Every calibration is developed in house on the company’s own Mustang AWD 500 chassis dyno, ECU boards are handled in a dedicated clean room, and new parts start in an R&D room equipped with a rapid prototyper. VF reports that more than 93 percent of its supercharger systems are still running after years of hard use, many on their second or third owner, and its engineers carry the testing discipline of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series into every road calibration.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
