VF Engineering Competition Package for D5 Audi A8

VF Engineering’s Competition Package for D5 Audi A8 is the VF calibration for the 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 that powers the A8 from 2019, and it is the only VF engine file for the V6 car that Bulletproof Automotive sells. Audi’s factory figures are 335 hp and 369 lb-ft. VF quotes 420 hp and 500 lb-ft with the Competition calibration, gains of 85 hp and 131 lb-ft, a far larger relative step than VF quotes for the V8 S8. In a large luxury sedan, the torque gain is what an owner notices, as the car gathers speed without the gearbox reaching for a lower ratio. VF writes the file for track use, so it suits an A8 owner who wants the most VF offers from the six.
VF Engineering designs supercharger and turbocharger systems, titanium exhausts and ECU and TCU calibrations from a 15,000 sq ft facility in Anaheim, Orange County, California, where it has been based for nearly two decades. Every calibration is developed in house on the company’s own Mustang AWD 500 chassis dyno, ECU boards are handled in a dedicated clean room, and new parts start in an R&D room equipped with a rapid prototyper. VF reports that more than 93 percent of its supercharger systems are still running after years of hard use, many on their second or third owner, and its engineers carry the testing discipline of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series into every road calibration.
