Does the Rear Diffuser for Toyota GR Corolla need permanent modifications?

No. The Rear Diffuser for Toyota GR Corolla bolts to the car using ten aluminum brackets in four styles, and Verus Engineering states it needs no permanent modifications. The hardware kit covers every fastener, and Verus publishes an install manual and an install video, so the car can go back to stock later if the owner wishes.

How does the diffuser create downforce?

The diffuser lowers the pressure beneath the tail of the GR Corolla, which cuts lift, and its strakes shed vortices that hold the flow against the diffuser surface. Verus Engineering reports that the design also reduces drag on the GR Corolla, improving overall aerodynamic efficiency, and found higher straight-line and corner speeds in its own track testing.

What should go on the front of a GR Corolla running this diffuser?

Verus Engineering pairs this diffuser with front dive planes in its Ventus 1 kit for the GR Corolla, because the planes add front downforce to offset the low-pressure zone the diffuser builds at the rear. Verus calls the result a well-proportioned setup, and drivers who want more downforce can step up to Ventus 2 with the front splitter.

Which exhausts has Verus confirmed with the GR Corolla diffuser?

Verus Engineering has not published an exhaust compatibility list for this diffuser, unlike some of its other platforms. The diffuser was designed around the factory GR Corolla rear end from in-house scan data, so owners running an aftermarket exhaust should confirm clearance with Verus before ordering.

Is the diffuser strong enough for regular track use?

Yes. Verus Engineering built it to retain significant strength while staying a simple bolt-on, using 5052-H32 aluminum sheet, laser cut, press brake formed and powder coated in textured black, with ten brackets holding it to the car. The strakes join the main plane through the Verus strake-to-mainplane construction, and stainless hardware secures every joint.

Description

Verus Engineering Rear Diffuser for Toyota GR Corolla

Verus Engineering’s Rear Diffuser for Toyota GR Corolla lowers both lift and drag at the back of the hatch. In Verus testing on track it brought quicker laps along with higher speeds on the straights and through corners. The design came from in-house scan data and CFD, with strakes that create vortices to hold the airflow against the diffuser surface. It installs as a bolt-on with no permanent modifications, so the GR Corolla can return to stock later, yet Verus built it to keep significant strength.

Construction and Balance

Verus laser cuts the diffuser from 5052-H32 sheet aluminum, forms it on a CNC press brake and finishes it in low-gloss textured black powder coat, joining strakes and main plane with its own construction method. Paired with front dive planes that offset its rear load, it makes up the Verus Ventus 1 kit for the GR Corolla, which Verus calls a well-proportioned aero balance; Ventus 2 adds more downforce for drivers who want it.

About Verus Engineering

Verus Engineering designs aerodynamic and performance parts in Indianapolis, Indiana. Two engineers founded it in late 2014 as Velox Motorsports and renamed it in 2017 after a trademark dispute; verus is Latin for true or complete. Each design starts from a 3D scan of the car, is developed with CFD and finite element analysis and is validated on track, across more than 20 platforms from the GR86 to the C8 Corvette.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
