Why does the Brake Cooling Kit for A90 include a steering rack limiter?

The Brake Cooling Kit for A90 routes ducting through the wheel well, and the steering rack limiter Verus Engineering includes stops the wheels turning far enough to touch it at full lock. It also protects the ducts on cars with very wide wheels. Verus states one limiter per side widens the turning circle by about 1.5 feet.

Does the Verus brake cooling kit work with aftermarket brakes?

Yes. Verus Engineering states the kit increases the cooling capacity of both factory and aftermarket brake systems on the Mk5 Supra, because it feeds air to the rotor center through a new stainless backing plate. Verus has not published clearance data for specific big brake kits, so confirm the fit with the brake kit maker first.

How long does the Supra brake cooling kit take to install?

Verus Engineering says the kit installs in a few hours with minimal hand tools and know-how, because it follows an OEM-style layout and arrives with pre-cut silicone hose, stainless clamps and all the hardware needed. Verus publishes an install video for the ducts and a separate one for the steering rack limiter.

Do I need brake cooling for track days in my GR Supra?

Yes, if the pedal goes long or the brakes fade late in a session. Verus Engineering built the kit to reduce brake fade on the Mk5 Supra by feeding the high-pressure air at the factory brake inlet straight into the rotor center. Cooler rotors and pads hold their friction for longer on a hot track.

What is the brake cooling kit made from?

The fender transition ducts are 2x2 twill carbon fiber, autoclave cured, and the hose is 2.5 inch high-temperature silicone, cut to length. The backing plates are stainless steel carrying 316L stainless ducts that Verus Engineering 3D prints and rivets in place, with an integrated ball joint shield and stainless clamps.

Description

Verus Engineering Brake Cooling Kit for A90 Toyota GR Supra

Verus Engineering’s Brake Cooling Kit for A90 Toyota GR Supra attacks brake fade at its source, taking the high-pressure air already reaching the factory brake inlet and driving it into the center of the rotor by the shortest route the chassis allows. Laid out OEM-style from Verus scan data and CFD, it raises the cooling capacity of factory and aftermarket brakes alike, for the owner who has felt the pedal soften late in a hard session.

Construction

A carbon fender transition duct, 2×2 twill and autoclave cured, holds a constant cross-section so the airflow is not choked, and its pancake profile clears the wheel. Pre-cut 2.5 inch silicone hose feeds a stainless backing plate, where a riveted, 3D printed 316L stainless duct aims air at the rotor center. The plate carries an integrated ball joint shield.

Features

Short routing for maximum cooling efficiency
Installs in a few hours with minimal hand tools
Steering rack limiter kit included for clearance at full lock
Pre-cut high-temperature hose, stainless clamps and all hardware supplied

About Verus Engineering

Verus Engineering designs aerodynamic and performance parts in Indianapolis, Indiana. Two engineers founded it in late 2014 as Velox Motorsports and renamed it in 2017 after a trademark dispute; verus is Latin for true or complete. Each design starts from a 3D scan of the car, is developed with CFD and finite element analysis and is validated on track, across more than 20 platforms from the GR86 to the C8 Corvette.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
