Varis KAMIKAZE-Z Wide Body Kit
When designing the Kamikaze-Z following the success of the Kamikaze-R in 2014, Varis re-evaluated the Z34’s shape and aerodynamic characteristics, with a focus on enhancing cooling efficiency. Unlike purely aesthetic modifications, aero parts are functional tuning components that embody a distinct form of beauty. The aero experts at Varis have consistently pushed the boundaries of aggressive and functional aero design, producing some of Japan’s most revered kits. Their “Kamikaze” line of demo cars, named to evoke the idea of a divine wind, showcases this commitment. The Kamikaze-Z represents the ultimate evolution of this concept, featuring a wide-body kit that builds upon the “Arising-II” design, widening the car by approximately 50mm on each side. Though the Kamikaze-Z’s wide body and aerodynamic components—such as canards and diffusers—are often praised for their striking appearance, they are meticulously engineered for performance on the track. The Formula D boss vehicle, enhanced with the Kamikaze aero kit, benefits from a substantial increase in downforce, resulting in improved control in high-speed corners. The Kamikaze kit is available in two material options, with numerous additional parts like canards and diffusers that elevate the Z34 to its peak potential. Varis incorporated successful elements from the Kamikaze-R into the Kamikaze-Z, beginning with the Arising II wide-body kit. To further set the Kamikaze-Z apart, Varis utilized carbon fiber extensively for the splitter, canards, rear diffuser, and wing, creating components that optimize airflow and generate downforce. Vented, wide fenders reduce pressure buildup in the wheel wells while contributing to the Z’s aggressive, race-ready appearance.
Located in Kanagawa prefecture, near Mount Fuji, Varis is world-renowned for high quality and innovative racing-derived aerodynamics parts, body kits, and carbon fiber parts. With over 40 years of experience in composites, Varis brings an unrivaled dedication and artistry to their craft. Varis parts are engineered and hand made in house by craftsmen. They have been supplying aero parts to “Super GT” since around 1990 and “Super Taikyu” since 1998. Their expertise developed from these racing platforms and has since integrated into their commercial offerings. This includes improvements in aerodynamics, heat management, and the optimal balance between weight and durability in their commercial offerings. Varis remains committed to incorporating insights from their various racing collaborations into their products.
