Are springs included with the TEIN Mono Racing Coilovers for ZN6?

Yes. Four TEIN springs at the US rate of 10.0 kgf/mm front and rear are part of the kit. Owners who want a softer or stiffer car can ask for 8.0 or 12.0 kgf/mm springs in their place when ordering from BA.

Will it fit a 2022 or newer GR86 or BRZ?

No. This kit covers the first-generation cars only: the 2012 to 2016 Scion FR-S, the 2013 to 2021 Subaru BRZ and the 2017 to 2021 Toyota 86. The 2022 and newer GR86 and BRZ take a separate TEIN Mono Racing kit, linked in the notes.

How much lower will the car sit?

TEIN recommends 1.2 to 2.0 inches below stock at both ends and quotes a typical drop of 1.6 inches. The range runs from 0.6 inches down to 2.8 inches at the front and 3.3 inches at the rear, so the car always sits below factory height.

Is any trimming needed during installation?

Yes. TEIN states that part of the rear interior trim has to be cut or removed so it does not interfere with the dampers, so allow for that when booking the install. Offset camber washers are sold separately if more alignment range is wanted.

Can these coilovers be used on the street?

Yes. The TEIN Mono Racing Coilovers for ZN6 target drivers who visit the circuit often but remain street usable, and full-length adjustment keeps the ride settled when lowered. A car that never sees a track day suits the Mono Sport kit better.

Description

TEIN Mono Racing Coilovers for ZN6 / ZC6 Toyota 86, Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S

TEIN’s Mono Racing Coilovers for ZN6 Toyota 86, Scion FR-S and ZC6 Subaru BRZ are meant for first-generation twins that spend real time at the circuit. Pillow ball upper mounts are used at all four corners, and the front pair adjusts camber and caster separately. US-spec 10.0 kgf/mm springs come in the box. A car kept for the commute and the odd mountain road is better matched to the Mono Sport kit.

Built for Repeated Laps

Mono-tube bodies keep the oil and gas chambers fully apart, so the damper does not aerate and its response stays linear session after session. The front struts use TEIN’s Upright Strong Tube, a rigid structure developed through its WRC and WRX programmes. Full-length adjustment drops the car by changing case length, leaving stroke and preload untouched.

Features

16-level ADVANCE M.S.V. adjuster on each shock, compression and rebound together
Stepless front camber and four-step caster, set independently
Eccentric collar in the strut lower bracket adds camber when rotated 180 degrees
Revalving or stroke changes available at purchase through TEIN’s Damping Force Customize System
EDFC compatible, letting an optional controller adjust damping from the cabin

About TEIN

TEIN was founded in Yokohama, Japan, in 1985 by former rally mechanic Hakaru Ichino, joined soon after by driver Yoshio Fujimoto. The team reached the World Rally Championship in 1989, and in 1995 Fujimoto won the Safari Rally in a Toyota Celica GT-FOUR, the first Japanese driver to do so. TEIN launched its own dampers in 1990 and came to supply around 80 percent of the dampers in the N1 Taikyu endurance series. TEIN USA has served the Americas from Downey, California, since 2001.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
