Are springs included with the kit?

Yes. Four springs at the TEIN US specification of 18.0 kgf/mm, or 1008 lbs/in, come with the dampers, and the fronts are 200 mm long with a 65 mm inner diameter. Stiffer 20.0 kgf/mm springs are offered for both ends and can be requested when ordering.

How much will the TEIN Mono Racing Coilovers for RZ34 lower my Z?

On a Z Performance, TEIN quotes a typical drop of 0.8 inches at the front and 1.2 inches at the rear, with recommended settings of 0.4 to 1.2 inches front and 0.8 to 1.6 inches rear. A US Z NISMO typically sits 1.0 inch lower at each end.

Will this kit fit the Z Sport trim?

TEIN lists the kit for the 2023 and later Z Performance and Z NISMO, plus the Japanese-market Fairlady Z. The Sport trim does not appear on the TEIN application list, so please contact BA before ordering for that car and we will check with TEIN.

Can the damping be changed from the driver seat?

Not without an add-on. Adjustment is by a 16-level knob on top of each damper. The TEIN Mono Racing Coilovers for RZ34 accept TEIN EDFC, sold separately, where a stepping motor takes the place of each knob so the setting can be changed from the cabin.

Is this kit too stiff for daily driving?

It is firm. The 18.0 kgf/mm springs are rates chosen for circuit driving, but TEIN tuned the damping for a moderate, settled feel, and full-length adjustment keeps ride quality steady once the car is lowered. Softer settings on the 16-level adjuster help on rough commutes.

Description

TEIN Mono Racing Coilovers for RZ34 Nissan Z

TEIN’s Mono Racing Coilovers for RZ34 Nissan Z target one habit TEIN found in the factory car: a rear end that reacts a little too eagerly, which costs confidence through a corner. The damping is pitched for a moderate, settled feel rather than a harsh one. With 18.0 kgf/mm springs at all four corners, the kit suits a Z that does regular track days; a car that only commutes will not use what it offers.

How the Dampers Work

Every corner is a mono-tube unit with oil and gas held in fully separate chambers, so damping stays linear through a long session. A knob on top selects 16 levels, moving compression and rebound together through TEIN’s ADVANCE M.S.V. valve, which still works at very low piston speeds. Full-length bodies change height without touching the springs, so a lowered Z rides much as it did before.

Rear damping tuned to settle the Z’s eager rear under cornering load
Spring rates and valving drawn from TEIN’s Super Racing flagship
Mono-tube construction for steady damping on repeated laps

EDFC compatible for in-cabin damping changes with an optional controller

About TEIN

TEIN was founded in Yokohama, Japan, in 1985 by former rally mechanic Hakaru Ichino, joined soon after by driver Yoshio Fujimoto. The team reached the World Rally Championship in 1989, and in 1995 Fujimoto won the Safari Rally in a Toyota Celica GT-FOUR, the first Japanese driver to do so. TEIN launched its own dampers in 1990 and came to supply around 80 percent of the dampers in the N1 Taikyu endurance series. TEIN USA has served the Americas from Downey, California, since 2001.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
