Are springs included with the Mono Racing Coilovers for CZ4A?

Yes. Four main springs and helper springs front and rear come with the kit, but the main spring rates are chosen at order. The front takes 14, 16 or 18 kgf/mm and the rear 14 or 16 kgf/mm, with 16.0 front and 14.0 rear as the TEIN reference rates.

How much lower will the Evolution X sit?

TEIN recommends 1.8 to 2.6 inches lower at the front and 1.2 to 2.0 inches lower at the rear. The full adjustable range runs from 1.1 to 4.3 inches below stock at the front and 0.5 to 3.5 inches below stock at the rear.

Can camber and caster be adjusted?

Yes, at the front. The pillow ball upper mounts set camber without steps and caster in four steps, and the lower brackets add camber through an eccentric collar. Camber washers in other offsets are sold separately, four per car, for a wider range.

Is this kit suited to an Evo that is driven daily?

It can be, although the TEIN Mono Racing Coilovers for CZ4A are built first for drivers who visit the circuit often. Full-length adjustment keeps the ride steady once the car is lowered, and the 16-level adjuster can be turned softer for commuting.

Can damping be changed from the driver seat?

Not as supplied; each damper has a 16-level knob that moves compression and rebound together. Optional TEIN EDFC controllers replace those knobs with stepping motors for in-cabin adjustment, and the EDFC ACTIVE versions also change damping automatically by G-force and speed.

Description

TEIN Mono Racing Coilovers for CZ4A Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X

TEIN’s Mono Racing Coilovers for CZ4A Lancer Evolution X were set up to keep the car composed at high speed and to limit nose dive under hard braking. Helper springs at both ends preserve rebound stroke, and the front pillow ball mounts widen the alignment range. Spring rates are picked at order, so this kit suits an owner with a clear track-day plan; an Evo that never leaves the road needs less.

Damper Design

Oil and gas sit in separate chambers, so the mono-tube dampers stay linear through repeated hard laps. The front struts use TEIN’s rigid Upright Strong Tube structure, carried over from its WRC and WRX work. A single knob on top of every damper sets compression and rebound together across 16 levels, and full-length bodies let ride height move with little change to the ride.

Features

ADVANCE M.S.V. valving, with a micro speed valve for very low piston speeds
Front camber adjusts steplessly and caster in four steps, independent of each other
Spring and damping settings derived from TEIN Super Racing motorsport data
Revalving or stroke changes offered by TEIN at purchase
EDFC compatible, for damping changes from the cabin with an optional TEIN controller

About TEIN

TEIN was founded in Yokohama, Japan, in 1985 by former rally mechanic Hakaru Ichino, joined soon after by driver Yoshio Fujimoto. The team reached the World Rally Championship in 1989, and in 1995 Fujimoto won the Safari Rally in a Toyota Celica GT-FOUR, the first Japanese driver to do so. TEIN launched its own dampers in 1990 and came to supply around 80 percent of the dampers in the N1 Taikyu endurance series. TEIN USA has served the Americas from Downey, California, since 2001.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
