Why replace the factory AWD controller?

The factory controller offers no adjustment of the front to rear torque split and cannot switch the car to rear-wheel drive. With the MoTeC in charge, the split can be tuned, the car can run in rear-wheel drive for tire warming or dyno work, and everything can be datalogged.

Are any extra modules needed?

T1 Race Development’s M1 AWD Control Harness for LB724 Lamborghini Huracán and 4S Audi R8 lets a slave MoTeC M1 ECU take over the all-wheel drive system from the factory controller. From the factory, a separate computer sets the front to rear torque split with no adjustment and no way to run the car in rear-wheel drive, which racers want for heating tires and tuners use on the dyno. The loom also suits a rear-wheel drive car being converted to all-wheel drive.

About T1 Race Development

T1 Race Development was founded in Texas in 2005 by Tony Palo, whose 2000 Acura Integra GSR became the first eight-second front-wheel-drive street car before the shop turned its attention to the Nissan GT-R.
