T1 Race Development’s GT1R Coolant Pressure Sensor Kit for R35 Nissan GT-R adds a coolant pressure reading to a built VR38, using a Honeywell 150 psig sensor, a mounting bracket and a plug and play harness that connects to the factory power steering connector. The sensor installs in the coolant fill neck, which is tapped for it, and every other piece of hardware is in the box.

Design and Performance

Coolant pressure is one of the channels worth watching on a high boost engine. A reading that climbs beyond normal can show combustion gas getting into the cooling system, an early sign of head sealing trouble, long before temperature alone would show a problem. T1’s MoTeC C127 dash layout for the R35 gives coolant pressure a bar gauge on the main screen alongside fuel and oil pressure.

Installation

About T1 Race Development
