Does the Suspension Bush Set for DC2 fit a US Acura Integra?

Yes. The US Acura Integra shares the DC2 chassis, and Go Tuning sells the Suspension Bush Set for DC2 for 1992 to 2001 model year cars. Spoon developed and registers it on the Japanese Integra Type R, with the EG6 Civic SiR and 4-door DB8 also listed.

Does it fit the EK9 Civic Type R?

No. Spoon registers this set for the DC2, DB8 and EG6 only. The EK4 and EK9 Civics use their own Spoon bushing set, part 51359-EKA-000, which BA lists separately. Ordering by part number avoids any mix-up between the two similar sets.

What does a hardness of 85 mean in practice?

Spoon moved the rubber from a factory hardness of 65 to 85, so each bushing deflects far less under cornering and braking. The arms stay where they should, and the car answers the wheel sooner. It stays rubber, so vibration is much lower than with polyurethane or metal.

Is the set suited to a daily driven car?

Yes. The firmer rubber adds some road feel but stays civil enough for daily use, and on an old car with worn bushings the ride can actually feel more composed. Owners who drive mostly on rough roads should expect a little more texture through the cabin.

Can the bushings be installed without a press?

No. The old bushings must be pressed or cut out of each arm and the new ones pressed in, which needs a hydraulic press and the right fixtures. Many owners send the arms to a machine shop, then refit them and book an alignment.

Description

Spoon Sports Suspension Bush Set for DC2 / DB8 Honda Integra and EG6 Civic

The Spoon Sports Suspension Bush Set for DC2 and DB8 Integra Type R and the EG6 Civic SiR serves the cars that made Spoon’s name in the 1990s, when the company was racing and developing B-series Hondas at the circuit. All three run double wishbone suspension at both ends, and that layout depends on its bushings to hold camber and toe as the car loads up. After a quarter century most factory rubber has cracked and gone soft. Spoon raises rubber hardness from the stock 65 to 85 and increases density to the maximum, which keeps geometry change in cornering small and gives sharper, smoother handling. Spoon lists the set at 5.6 kg. It is the right choice for a restored or circuit-driven Integra Type R; an owner after the lowest possible compliance might look at solid mounts instead and accept the noise.

Features

Rubber hardness raised from 65 to 85

The Suspension Bush Set for DC2 is registered by Spoon for the DC2, DB8 and EG6; EK4 and EK9 Civics take a separate Spoon set, part 51359-EKA-000

Bushings are pressed into the existing arms; arms and hardware are not included

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
