What seat does the Reclining Seat Rail for EG6 carry?

The Spoon reclining bucket seat, part ALL-81200-001, which is sold separately. Spoon lists this rail as the EG Civic entry in the seat catalogue, so the same part number per side serves both the EG6 SiR hatchback and the EG9 Ferio SiR sedan. It is not intended for other seats.

Does it fit both the hatchback and the Ferio sedan?

Yes. Spoon registers the rail for the E-EG6 Civic SiR and the E-EG9 Civic Ferio SiR, both built from September 1991 to September 1995 with the B16A engine and 5-speed manual. The Reclining Seat Rail for EG6 is therefore one part number per side for both bodies.

Will it work with the Spoon carbon bucket seat?

No. The Spoon price list and Go Tuning both state that this rail cannot be used with the side bracket that adapts Spoon rails to the carbon bucket seat. On an EG, the rail is for the reclining bucket seat only, so choose the seat first and then order the rail to match.

How many rails does a car need?

One per Spoon seat. Each option is the rail for a single seat position, Left or Right, at a listed weight of 8.5 kg. An EG with a Spoon seat on one side needs one rail; a car with Spoon seats on both sides needs one of each.

Should a weekend EG use this rather than a fixed bucket?

Yes, if the car spends more time on the road than on track. Spoon designed the reclining bucket seat to give the support of a bucket through the hips and shoulders while keeping an adjustable backrest and breathable fabric, which a fixed race shell cannot offer on a long drive.

Description

Spoon Sports Reclining Seat Rail for EG6 Honda Civic and EG9 Civic Ferio

The Spoon Sports Reclining Seat Rail for EG6 Honda Civic and EG9 Civic Ferio is the mount for Spoon’s reclining bucket seat in the B16A SiR models of 1991 to 1995, the hatchback and the Ferio sedan alike. An EG kept as a weekend road car is exactly the use Spoon had in mind for the seat: a bucket that holds the shoulders and transmits the car’s movement through the hips, yet reclines and breathes on a long drive thanks to the fabric Spoon shares with its carbon seat. Spoon registers the rail for the E-EG6 Civic SiR and the E-EG9 Ferio SiR built from September 1991 to September 1995, both with the 5-speed manual. It weighs a listed 8.5 kg and serves one seat position. This is a reclining-seat rail only; Spoon’s side bracket for the carbon bucket seat cannot be used with it, so an EG headed for a fixed carbon shell needs a different plan.

About Spoon Sports

Spoon Sports was founded in 1988 in Suginami, Tokyo, by Tatsuru Ichishima, a former Honda race car tester and driver, with backing from Honda and Mugen. The company has raced Hondas from its first season, when Ichishima’s own Civic became the first Civic to enter the Japan Touring Car Championship, and its Type One workshop, opened in 2001, services and tunes the cars its parts are developed on. Spoon builds engine, drivetrain, exhaust, chassis and aero parts for Honda models and proves them on circuits and in endurance racing, including the 25 Hours of Thunderhill.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
