Is the N1 Muffler Kit for FL1 JQR certified?

Yes. The N1 Muffler Kit for FL1 holds Japanese JQR certification, with 89 dB recorded in the close-proximity test and 76 dB in the acceleration test. Spoon treated certification as a development target from the outset, which is why the system uses two silencers and split branches rather than one open pipe.

What is the bumper garnish for?

The garnish is a trim piece made for this kit that frames the two Spoon silencers in the rear bumper openings. It lets the new outlets sit as neatly as the factory tips, so the rear of the hatchback looks finished rather than modified. It comes in the box with the pipes.

Does it suit both the manual and the CVT?

Yes. Spoon lists the hatchback with the 6-speed manual and with the CVT, in both of its Japanese trim levels, plus the RS manual added from 2024. The pipes, silencers and garnish are the same for every version, so there is only one part number to order.

Can the exhaust support a bigger turbo later?

Yes. Spoon sized the 60.5 mm front pipe and main pipe to keep exhaust flow sufficient after a boost increase or an upgrade to a high-flow turbocharger. That makes it a sensible first step for an owner with a longer tuning plan, since the exhaust will not need replacing at the next stage.

Will it fit the Civic Si or Type R?

No. The kit is built for the FL1 hatchback body and its 1.5L turbo. Spoon offers a separate N1 kit for the FE1 Civic Si sedan, and another for the FL5 Type R, each with pipe routing and silencers matched to that car.

Description

Spoon Sports N1 Muffler Kit for FL1 Honda Civic

The Spoon Sports N1 Muffler Kit for FL1 Honda Civic hatchback began with three targets: more power, a sound worth hearing, and Japanese JQR certification. Those aims pull in different directions, since flow wants large pipes and few bends while quiet running wants several silencers and smaller sections, so Spoon worked through pipe diameters, silencer shapes and layouts on the flow bench before testing a long line of prototypes. The finished system runs a 60.5 mm stainless front pipe into a 60.5 mm main pipe that divides into two 50.6 mm branches, each ending in a 65.0 mm N1 silencer, keeping the twin outlets of the factory car. A dedicated garnish is supplied so the new tips sit naturally in the rear bumper. It passed certification at 89 dB close-proximity and 76 dB acceleration noise, and Spoon sized it for boost increases and a high-flow turbo. Owners planning to tune get the most from it.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
