Is the N1 Muffler Kit for AP1 single or dual exit?

It is single exit. Spoon designed the N1 Muffler Kit for AP1 with one compact tail section on one side of the car, a layout chosen to take weight out of the rear overhang. Buyers expecting two outlets at the back of the roadster should know that before ordering, because the rear view changes noticeably.

Does the kit drone on the highway?

Spoon publishes no cruise noise figure, so BA cannot promise a particular result at highway speed. Spoon does say that most of the silencing takes place in the forward piping, where the gas is hottest, and the kit ships with a sub silencer for extra absorption. Owners who cover long distances should fit the sub silencer from the start.

Will it fit the 2.2L S2000?

Yes. Spoon registers the kit for the AP2 with the 2.2L F22C as well as the 2.0L F20C AP1, and Go Tuning sells it for 2000 through 2009 model year S2000s. That includes the US 2004 and 2005 cars, which already carry the larger 2.2L engine in the earlier body.

Does the S2000 need a tune after fitting it?

No. Neither Spoon nor Go Tuning lists a tune as a requirement for this exhaust. Spoon quotes no horsepower figure for it either, so BA does not print one. Spoon aimed the design at better charging efficiency at high rpm, so any change will be felt near the top of the rev range rather than at low speed.

What comes in the box?

Spoon Japan lists the sub silencer as included, and Go Tuning adds the silencer assembly and gaskets. Neither source itemises bolts, springs or hangers, so BA can confirm the hardware before the order ships. The packed carton measures 55 x 102 x 28 cm, small enough for normal parcel delivery to a home or a shop.

Description

Spoon Sports N1 Muffler Kit for AP1 / AP2 Honda S2000

The Spoon Sports N1 Muffler Kit for AP1 and AP2 Honda S2000 moves much of the silencing work forward, into the piping nearest the engine, because exhaust gas is easiest to quieten while it is still hot. That decision let Spoon mount the silencer close to the centre of the car and finish the system with a small, single tail section on one side, so less mass hangs in the rear overhang. Spoon says the reduced yaw shows up as sharper handling. Go Tuning, Spoon’s US distributor, describes 60 mm piping and high-speed testing of exhaust gas pressure to confirm flow. The sound is the familiar high-revving Honda note, opening up as VTEC comes in. This kit suits an owner who rates handling and character above volume; anyone wanting a loud, twin-outlet look should choose another exhaust.

Design and Development

Spoon tested combinations of construction method and material on the car, aiming to raise the charging efficiency of the engine while keeping the dynamics of the whole vehicle in balance. The single compact outlet followed from that work.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
