Is the Front Bumper for EG6 the same shape as the factory bumper?

Yes. Spoon reproduced the simple factory styling of the EG Civic for the Front Bumper for EG6, so the car keeps its original look once the bumper is painted. The changes are in the material and the grille, which now uses aluminum mesh to let more air through during circuit sports driving.

Why reissue a stock-shape bumper?

Honda no longer supplies the original EG front bumper, and Spoon created its Timeless collection to keep parts like this available. Each Timeless part is redeveloped with current engineering methods and technology, which lets owners of a three decade old Civic replace a damaged or tired bumper without hunting for used parts.

Does it arrive ready to paint?

Nearly. The bumper has a white gel coat, but Spoon uses wax during manufacture, so the surface must be degreased and then keyed with wet paper of about 800 grit. Test fit it on the car before any paint goes on, and let the finish air dry, since heat from a booth or heater can distort FRP.

Does the aluminum mesh grille help cooling?

Yes. Spoon chose aluminum mesh for the grille openings with circuit sports driving in mind, where a B16A spends long periods at high revs. An open mesh passes air toward the radiator more freely than a closed insert, which helps on hot track days, while the overall shape stays faithful to the original Civic.

Which Civic models does Spoon register it for?

Spoon registers it for the EG6 Civic SiR hatchback with the B16A engine and 5-speed manual, built from September 1991 to September 1995. That fitment record is the reference BA follows, so the bumper is listed for that body and engine combination only, and other EG body styles are not part of this listing.

Description

Spoon Sports Front Bumper for EG6 Honda Civic

The Spoon Sports Front Bumper for EG6 Honda Civic SiR is a reissue that brings back the plain, factory shape of the EG hatchback nose now that the original Honda part has been discontinued. It belongs to the Spoon Timeless collection, a range of parts redeveloped with current engineering methods so owners can keep older Hondas on the road. The shape copies the simple factory styling that defines the EG Civic, but the bumper is molded in FRP with a white gel coat, and the grille openings carry aluminum mesh chosen with circuit driving and cooling in mind. Spoon lists it at 10 kg. For an EG6 restoration where a cracked or faded bumper can no longer be replaced from Honda, it is the cleanest fix available; an owner after an aggressive aero look should look elsewhere, since this bumper is meant to pass for original once painted.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
