Does the SOUL Street Exhaust Package for 987.2 fit my Boxster or Cayman?

Yes. This package fits the 987.2 Porsche Boxster, Boxster S, Cayman, and Cayman S from 2009 to 2012, covering both the 2.9L and 3.4L flat-six engines. SOUL designed the long tube headers and valved exhaust specifically for the 987.2 platform, so it is a direct bolt-on with no cutting or fabrication required.

What comes in the package?

The SOUL Street Exhaust Package for 987.2 includes SOUL's Long Tube Street Headers and the Valved Exhaust System, plus your chosen exhaust tips and installation instructions. The headers carry high-flow Sport Cats, and the valved muffler controls the sound. Together they make up a complete header-back system for the Boxster and Cayman.

How does the valved exhaust change the sound?

With the valves closed, the system keeps a refined, low-drone tone that is comfortable for daily driving and highway cruising. When the valves open, the exhaust flows straight through for an aggressive, high-revving flat-six wail. You get a quiet car when you want one and a race-bred voice when you open it up, without a constant drone.

No, a tune is not required and the package runs with no check engine light. SOUL recorded up to 8 whp and 11 ft-lbs at 4,100 RPM on a stock Cayman S, so you gain power on the factory map alone. Many owners add a supporting tune to unlock larger gains, but it is optional.

What tip options are available?

You can choose single wall 321 stainless tips in Signature Satin, Brushed Satin Black, or Titanium, in a straight cut or slash cut style, or dual wall chrome tips in Polished Chrome or Black Chrome. Titanium tips save nearly a pound over stainless. Select your tip style and finish from the options before adding the package to your cart.

Is professional installation required, and is it covered by a warranty?

SOUL recommends professional installation, though the package is a direct bolt-on with instructions included. Every SOUL exhaust is backed by a lifetime warranty to the original owner, covering materials and workmanship for both street and track use. SOUL also stands behind fitment on the 987.2 Boxster and Cayman.

Description

SOUL Performance Street Exhaust Package for 987.2 Porsche Boxster / Cayman

SOUL Performance’s Street Exhaust Package for 987.2 Porsche Boxster and Cayman pairs a fully valved exhaust system with long tube street headers, engineered specifically for the 2.9L and 3.4L flat-six. Closed, the valves hold a composed, refined tone for daily driving; open, the system flows straight through for the flat-six wail these cars were built to make. SOUL hand-builds the package in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania from T304L stainless steel, with port-matched flanges, mandrel-bent tubing, and high-flow Sport Cats that keep the check engine light off. Dynojet testing on a Cayman S returned up to 8 whp and 11 ft-lbs at 4,100 RPM, with more available once a supporting tune is added. Finish it your way, from single wall tips in signature satin, brushed satin black, or titanium, to dual wall chrome tips in polished or black chrome, all backed by SOUL’s lifetime warranty.

Development and Testing

SOUL designed this package around the 987.2 platform, with 2-inch primary runners and optimized collectors sized for both the 2.9L and 3.4L engines. On a Dynojet, a Cayman S with PDK recorded peak gains of 8 whp and 11 ft-lbs of torque at 4,100 RPM, and SOUL notes larger gains are available when the package is paired with a supporting tune

Construction

The long tube headers are built from T304L stainless steel with port-matched flanges and mandrel-bent tubing for smooth, unrestricted flow. The muffler uses fortified casings for durability on street and track, and the tips are 321 stainless steel in the single wall styles, titanium, or dual wall tips finished in polished or black chrome. Every unit is fixture-tested for fitment before it ships.

Bolt-On and Go

Each header set is rigorously quality-checked, tested in a fixture to guarantee fitment, and then foam-packed to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. Thorough installation instructions are included for a straightforward install that most DIY enthusiasts can perform. Every SOUL Performance 987.2 exhaust package ships ready for a straightforward install with all instructions included.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. Please review the full Terms & Conditions here.

BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
