SOUL Performance Products’ Porsche 986 Boxster SOUL Street Exhaust Package (2000-2004) replaces the restrictive factory system with a matched header and catback combination engineered to improve flow, increase power, and deliver an aggressive yet refined Porsche flat-six note. By addressing common OEM choke points, oversized catalytic converters in the headers, thin flanges, compromised primary tubing, and the secondary catalysts in the factory mid-pipes, the package upgrades the full exhaust tract in one complete solution. Premium high-flow catalytic converters help prevent check engine lights and eliminate the fumes commonly associated with free flow setups, while SOUL’s mufflers are designed to practically eliminate drone and keep the car reserved at partial throttle, so valves aren’t necessary for day-to-day driving. Built in-house from T304L stainless steel, the system features precision headers with port-matched flanges, smooth-radius primary tubing, optimized collectors, and merge spikes to smooth flow into the collector, paired with mandrel-bent stainless tubing and fortified muffler casings for long-term durability. This configuration is finished with Straight Cut Single Wall 321 stainless tips in SOUL’s Signature Satin, and every component is fixture-tested, quality-checked, and foam packed with new high-grade hardware and detailed installation instructions included.

Development

• The 986 Boxster is a highly capable sports car with strong value and plenty of potential, but it comes from the factory with a restrictive exhaust system. The stock headers use oversized catalytic converters, thin flanges, and compromised primary tubing that can hold back power. Farther downstream, a secondary set of catalytic converters in the OEM exhaust piping restricts flow even more. SOUL Performance Products’ 986 Street Exhaust Package targets these weak points and replaces them in one complete solution. The result is a full header and catback system engineered to work together to add excitement while minimizing unwanted exhaust traits. SOUL’s mufflers are designed to practically eliminate drone, even when paired with aftermarket free flow headers, keeping the tone reserved at partial throttle without the need for valves, making it a strong option for drivers who want it loud when appropriate but refined around town.

Construction

• SOUL Performance’s precision-engineered headers are meticulously fabricated from T304L stainless steel. Proven design elements, including port-matched flanges, smooth-radius primary tubing, and flow-optimized collectors, work together to maximize power gains, and merge spikes are integrated to smooth exhaust flow into the collector for improved efficiency and output. Each set is built from mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel tubing and features mufflers with fortified casings for long-term durability, then rigorously quality-checked prior to shipping. A variety of 321 stainless exhaust tips is available in multiple styles and finishes, with customization options offered directly through SOUL Performance.

• Trimming of the inner fender liner and exhaust heat shield is required on all vehicles and headlight auto leveling sensor may need to be disabled / removed and rerouting of brake hard line may be necessary to protect from heat. Professional installation is highly recommend.
