SOUL Performance Sport Headers for 992 Porsche 911 Carrera, Dakar, Sport Classic and Turbo
SOUL Performance’s Sport Headers for 992 Porsche 911 Carrera, Dakar, Sport Classic and Turbo give every twin-turbo 992 a cleaner path into the turbochargers, replacing the factory manifolds with free-flowing single-wall headers that keep full ground clearance. SOUL builds every set in-house in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, from thick-wall T304L stainless, with laser-cut flanges, mandrel-bent tubing, and back-purged TIG welds, then proves the fit on machined aluminum fixtures before it ships. Equal-length runners feed a true 3-into-1 merge collector into an outlet far larger than the factory’s, so boost comes up faster and the engine pulls harder across the rev range, with a richer, more purposeful voice. At 11.4 pounds the set is more than five pounds lighter than the factory hardware it replaces, and because the 992’s factory headers carry no catalytic converters, the upgrade adds flow without disturbing the emissions system or lighting the dash. For the 992 owner who wants sharper response and real character, this is a precise, bolt-on upgrade backed for life.
Design and Flow
SOUL replaced the factory manifolds, which have no true collector, with equal-length runners feeding a 3-into-1 merge collector that keeps exhaust velocity high on the way to the turbochargers. The outlet opens up well beyond the narrow factory outlets, and the set is sized to pair with the turbo’s efficiency map for quicker spool and more usable power in every gear, with no loss of ground clearance.
Construction
Every set is built in-house in the USA from thick-wall T304L stainless steel, with laser-cut flanges, mandrel-bent tubing, and back-purged TIG welds laid under ARCAL Prime argon for clean, strong joints. SOUL welds each header on machined aluminum fixtures that act as heat sinks and hold the geometry true, then quality-checks, test-fits, and foam-packs every set before it ships.
Power and Sound
SOUL does not publish a dyno sheet for this set, and we will not invent one. What the design delivers is quicker boost response and stronger, more usable power through the rev range, the result of a real collector and a far less restrictive path into the turbos. The single-wall construction also opens up the exhaust note, giving the flat-six more presence and character under load without turning every drive into a drone.
Features
Quicker boost response and stronger, more usable power through the rev range
Single-wall design that opens up the flat-six’s voice with more character under load
Full ground clearance retained, with a direct bolt-on fit
Factory catalytic converters sit downstream and stay in place, so no check-engine light is expected
Every set fixture-tested and foam-packed before shipping
Backed by the SOUL Lifetime Warranty for the original owner, street and track
Designed and assembled in the USA (Willow Grove, Pennsylvania)
The SOUL Performance Sport Headers for 992 are sold as a complete set, one part number that fits both the 3.0-liter and 3.7-liter twin-turbo engines
These headers mount ahead of the turbochargers; the 992’s factory catalytic converters sit downstream in the exhaust and stay in place, so no check-engine light is expected
This set fits the 992 Carrera, Dakar, Sport Classic and Turbo, but not the 992.2 Carrera GTS, which uses a different hybrid powertrain
An ECU tune is not required, though a supporting tune lets the headers reach their full potential
Not CARB certified and intended for closed-course competition use; it may not be legal for registered vehicles in California and similarly regulated states
Covered by the SOUL Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for the original owner, street and track
Frequently Asked Questions
Do the SOUL Sport Headers for 992 fit both the Carrera and the Turbo? Yes. One set fits the 992 Carrera and Dakar on the 3.0-liter twin-turbo and the 992 Turbo, Turbo S, and Sport Classic on the 3.7-liter twin-turbo, in US and Euro spec from 2020 on. The only exclusion is the 992.2 Carrera GTS, which uses a different hybrid powertrain.
Will these headers set a check-engine light or affect emissions? No. The SOUL Sport Headers for 992 mount ahead of the turbochargers, and on the 992 the factory headers carry no catalytic converters. The cats sit downstream in the rest of the exhaust and stay in place, so these headers improve flow without being part of the emissions system, and no check-engine light is expected when installed correctly.
How much power do they add? SOUL does not publish a dyno figure for this set, so we will not quote one. The design adds a true 3-into-1 collector and a far less restrictive path into the turbos, which brings quicker boost response and stronger, more usable power through the rev range. A supporting tune builds on that flow.
How do they change the sound? The single-wall construction gives the twin-turbo flat-six more presence and a sharper edge under load, with added character on and off throttle. It is a fuller, more purposeful version of the stock note rather than a harsh one, and it stays civil at a steady cruise.
Is an ECU tune required? No. The headers flow better on the stock tune and work as a standalone upgrade. Many owners add a tune and supporting exhaust later to get the most from the extra flow, but it is not needed for the headers to deliver their gains.
Is professional installation recommended? Yes. The headers are a direct bolt-on, but the work sits deep around the turbochargers, so a lift and an experienced installer give the cleanest result, a proper seal, and the least risk to the surrounding hardware.

Shipping Policy
-+
Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well.
For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
