Soul undertook a fresh examination of the exhaust design, striving to develop the optimal solution. By conducting side-by-side sound comparisons between their split bank design and an X-pipe design, it was observed that an X-pipe configuration resulted in a hollower exhaust tone, eliminating desirable deeper frequencies unique to the 997.1 model—creating a noticeable difference. On the other hand, separating the banks enhanced volume and character, resulting in a deeper and fuller flat six sound with a touch of rasp, evoking an exhaust note reminiscent of air-cooled engines. Independent dyno testing conducted at Growler Motor Labs verified real and repeatable peak gains of 10whp and 14ft-lbs of torque, accompanied by a noticeable improvement in the mid RPM range. This upgrade enhances throttle response and overall drivability, rekindling the love for your Carrera with remarkable gains in both sound and power.
