SOUL Performance Muffler Bypass Pipes for 997.1 Porsche 911 Carrera S
The SOUL Performance Muffler Bypass Pipes for the 997.1 Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera S trade every ounce of factory silencing for the raw, CUP-inspired voice of a race car and a staggering drop in weight. SOUL designs and builds them in-house in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania from .065-inch T304L stainless steel, 2.25 inches in diameter the full length for maximum flow, and fixtures every set in thick aluminum tooling so nothing warps. At 2 pounds against the factory’s 38.5, the pipes strip 36.5 pounds off the back of the car, and because there is no muffler left in the path, the flat-six comes through loud, hard, and unfiltered. These are built for the aggressive street car or the weekend track car, for the owner who wants the sound without apology, and SOUL backs them with a lifetime warranty to the original owner.
Construction
SOUL builds the pipes in-house from .065-inch T304L stainless steel, running a full 2.25-inch outer diameter the entire length so the flat-six exhales without restriction, and every set is assembled and tested in a thick aluminum fixture to keep the pipes true and prevent warping. The system reuses the Carrera S factory tips for an OEM look, or accepts SOUL’s Polished Chrome or Black Chrome tips; base and PSE-equipped cars take SOUL tips because their outlet diameter differs from the S model.
Design and Performance
With no muffler in the path, these pipes give the 997.1 a CUP-inspired straight-pipe tone that is unmistakably a track car on the street, and because the piping is a constant 2.25 inches the whole way back, flow is maximized rather than pinched down at a silencer. This is an uncompromising sound built for owners who want it; there is inherent drone with all muffling removed, and it is best managed through rpm and gear selection rather than engineered away.
Features
Replace the factory mufflers with straight-through pipes for maximum flow and a CUP-inspired straight-pipe tone
Built and fixture-tested in-house to keep the pipes true and prevent warping

Base and PSE-equipped cars require SOUL tips; the outlet diameter differs from the S model
S models can reuse the factory tips or upgrade to SOUL Polished Chrome or Black Chrome tips
Direct bolt-on at the factory connections
Lifetime warranty to the original owner
Level-1 install difficulty (direct bolt-on)

Notes
These pipes remove all rear muffling, so the car is loud by design with a CUP-style straight-pipe tone, and some drone at certain rpm and in certain gears is inherent to the design rather than a defect
Base Carrera and PSE-equipped cars must use SOUL tips because the outlet diameter differs from the S model; S models can reuse the factory tips or fit SOUL tips
Built for the aggressive street car or weekend track car
This system increases exhaust volume substantially; it is intended for off-road and track use and may not be legal where exhaust-noise limits apply
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the SOUL Performance Muffler Bypass Pipes fit my 997.1 Carrera? Yes. The SOUL Performance Muffler Bypass Pipes fit the 997.1 Porsche 911 Carrera with the 3.6L flat-six and the Carrera S with the 3.8L, from 2005 to 2008. They bolt on at the factory connections. The Carrera S can reuse its factory tips, while base and PSE-equipped cars take SOUL tips because of an outlet-diameter difference.
Do I need to buy SOUL tips? It depends on your car. A Carrera S can reuse its factory tips or step up to SOUL Polished Chrome or Black Chrome tips. Base Carrera and PSE-equipped cars must run SOUL tips, because their factory outlet diameter does not match the S-model tips the pipes are built around.
How loud are they, and do they drone? They are very loud. With all rear muffling removed, the pipes deliver a CUP-inspired straight-pipe sound, and there is inherent drone at certain rpm and in certain gears because nothing is silencing the exhaust. Most owners manage it through rpm and gear selection. These are built for aggressive street and track use.
How much weight do they save? A lot. The pipes weigh about 2 pounds against roughly 38.5 pounds for the factory components, a reduction of about 36.5 pounds at the rear of the car. That weight loss, low and behind the axle, is one of the main reasons owners fit them.
What are the SOUL Performance Muffler Bypass Pipes made from? They are built in-house from .065-inch T304L stainless steel, running a full 2.25-inch diameter the entire length for maximum flow, and each set is fixture-tested to prevent warping. SOUL backs them with a lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship for the original owner.
Are they a direct bolt-on? Yes. They bolt on at the factory exhaust connections with no cutting required, and most owners complete the job on a lift. Having a shop fit them helps guarantee a clean, leak-free seal at the joints.

Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well.
For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
