SOUL Performance Competition Over Axle Pipes for 982 Porsche 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 and Cayman GT4 / Spyder / GTS 4.0

SOUL Performance developed the Competition Over Axle Pipes for the Porsche 718 GT4, Spyder, and GTS 4.0L  to eliminate the dense factory particulate filters that restrict the exhaust character of the naturally aspirated 4.0L engine, revealing a sharper, more engaging tone befitting the platform. Using extensive analysis and 3D scanning, SOUL engineered a one-piece, full 2.25-inch design with optimized routing and large-radius mandrel bends for a refined street-and-track upgrade, with an optional heat management solution available for added protection. Built in-house in Willow Grove, PA, each set is fabricated from mandrel-bent, thick-wall .065-inch T304L stainless steel with back-purged TIG welding and ISO 9001:2015-spec waterjet-cut flanges for long-term durability and precise fitment. For North American vehicles, the design is intended to help avoid a check engine light and provides a 10.9lb (4.5kg) weight savings versus the factory components (12.3lb vs 23.2lb). Every set is fixture-tested, quality-checked, foam packed, and shipped with new high-grade hardware, backed by SOUL Performance’s lifetime warranty for both street and track use.

Development

Construction

• SOUL Performance assembles each set in-house in the USA using mandrel-bent, thick-wall .065-inch T304L stainless steel. Back-purged TIG welding with ARCAL Prime argon gas is used to ensure proper weld penetration and long-term durability. Waterjet-cut flanges are produced to ISO 9001:2015 standards with +/- 0.003-inch tolerances for exceptional precision. These over axle pipes are fabricated in thick-gauge aluminum fixtures that act as a heat sink during welding, helping prevent warping of both the components and the fixtures to maintain consistent, precise fitment.

• SOUL Performance rigorously inspects every component, fixture test-fits each system to verify precise fitment, and foam packs everything to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. Each kit includes new high-grade hardware and four OEM Porsche gaskets for installation.
