How do the Headlight Surrounds for McLaren 720S relate to cooling?

RYFT makes the surrounds as carbon trims for the eye sockets of the 720S, and it describes them as a styling part rather than a cooling change. The sockets themselves feed air to the low-temperature radiators, so the Headlight Surrounds for McLaren 720S follow the existing openings rather than adding or closing any.

Which 720S body styles take the RYFT surrounds?

RYFT lists the surrounds as a single 720S part and keeps separate Coupe and Spider versions for parts where the bodywork differs, mainly around the roof and rear deck. McLaren gave the Spider new rear bodywork and kept the eye socket front end, so the surrounds are not one of the split parts.

Are the headlight surrounds exposed carbon?

Yes. RYFT builds its 720S exterior parts in carbon fiber with a two by two twill weave, and the surrounds show that weave around each headlight. On a car with body colour or Dark Palladium trim elsewhere, they add a clear carbon accent to the front without needing to change the bumper or hood.

Is professional installation recommended for the headlight surrounds?

Yes. The surrounds sit right against the headlight units and the radiator inlets, and the gaps around them are seen at close range by anyone looking at the car. A McLaren specialist will protect the lamps and paint, align both sides evenly and confirm nothing obstructs the air path into the sockets.

How should carbon trim around headlights be maintained?

Treat the surrounds like the painted bodywork around them. Wash with a pH neutral shampoo, keep harsh bug removers off the clear finish, and add a UV stable ceramic coating or paint protection film. Insects build up quickly at the front of a fast car, so a pre soak helps remove them without scrubbing.

Description

RYFT Carbon Fiber Headlight Surrounds for McLaren 720S

RYFT’s headlight surrounds for McLaren 720S cars frame the feature most people recognise the car by: the eye sockets. McLaren left the headlight openings uncovered, split them with floating LED blades and used each socket as an air inlet feeding a low-temperature radiator behind it. RYFT trims that shape in carbon, which makes these surrounds one of the most visible pieces in the program for their size, and a strong choice for an owner who wants a carbon face without changing large panels.

Design

The eye socket was the signature of the 720S design team under Rob Melville, who is also credited on the P1 that RYFT cites as its inspiration. On the P1, narrow LED headlamps were shaped after the McLaren speedmark and kept small to free the nose for cooling. The 720S took a bolder route with deep sockets, and RYFT outlines them in 2×2 twill with the sharper curves it applies across this program.

Features

2×2 twill carbon fiber trims for both headlight eye sockets
Outlines the sockets that also feed the low-temperature radiators
Gives the front a carbon accent without replacing major panels
Matches the weave of the RYFT front lip and bumper vents

Applications

McLaren 720S: P14 | 2018-2023 | 4.0L M840T twin-turbo V8

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
