How do the Headlight Inserts for Ferrari 296 GTB relate to the brake cooling intakes?

Ferrari placed an air intake for the brakes inside each 296 GTB headlight unit, feeding the Aero calipers. The RYFT inserts are styling parts for the headlight area, and Bulletproof Automotive confirms fitment details with RYFT before ordering the Headlight Inserts for Ferrari 296 GTB, including how they sit relative to those intakes.

Are the headlight inserts exposed carbon?

Yes. RYFT shows the inserts in bare carbon fiber with the one by one weave listed for its 296 parts, finished in clear. Because they are small and sit inside the lamp area, they read as a dark accent from a distance and only show their weave up close, which suits owners who prefer understated changes.

Are the inserts a good first RYFT part?

Yes. They cost less than any other RYFT part for the 296 GTB and change the expression of the car without touching its outline. Owners who like the result often add the front lower bumper flap or the front splitter next, building a carbon front end in steps rather than all at once.

Will the inserts fit a 296 GTS?

RYFT titles the inserts for the 296 GTB, and its web address for the set mentions coupe and spider. The GTS shares the front design of the GTB according to launch coverage, but RYFT has not named the GTS, so a GTS owner should wait for written fitment from RYFT before ordering.

How should carbon trim near the headlights be cleaned?

Insect residue is the main problem at the front of a fast car, so soak the area with a gentle bug remover before washing rather than scrubbing. Use a soft microfiber on both the carbon and the lamp lens, avoid abrasive polish on either, and consider a ceramic coating so residue releases more easily.

Description

RYFT Carbon Fiber Headlight Inserts for Ferrari 296 GTB

RYFT’s carbon fiber headlight inserts for Ferrari 296 GTB cars work on the most characterful detail of the front end, the teardrop lamps that Ferrari drew as a modern reading of its 1960s headlights. Each factory unit also houses an air intake for the brakes, so the headlight area is both styling and cooling on this car. At 1,000 dollars these inserts are the least expensive RYFT 296 part, and we see them as a companion to a carbon splitter or bumper flap rather than a standalone statement.

Design

Ferrari’s design team called the headlights a contemporary take on the teardrop lamps of the 1960s, and by putting the brake cooling intake inside each unit they removed the need for a separate intake under the floor. Those ducts feed the Aero calipers first used on the SF90 Stradale, which have ventilation channels built into them. RYFT’s inserts bring 1×1 weave carbon to the headlight area, giving the face of the car a darker, more technical look without altering the lamp outline that defines it.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
