The Öhlins Road & Track coilovers for BMW M3 (E90/E92/E93) (2007-2013) are built for a car that arrived from the factory with one of the finest naturally aspirated engines ever fitted to a production BMW. The E9x M3 is sharp, rear-wheel drive, and genuinely rewarding when the suspension setup matches the rest of what the car is capable of. How the DFV System Works

Öhlins’ Dual Flow Valve (DFV) technology handles the transition between road and race damping with a single adjustment. Turning the gold knob clockwise engages race mode across all four damping zones at once: low-speed compression, high-speed compression, low-speed rebound, and high-speed rebound. Reverse it and the damper returns to a relaxed road setting. No tools, no separate adjustments per corner. On track, the DFV internals respond quickly to surface changes, keeping tires loaded through corners and stable under the hard braking the M3 is built for. The E9x M3’s rear-wheel-drive balance rewards precise, well-damped suspension; this kit keeps the car planted and predictable at the limit while giving you the confidence to push it there. Off track, the same system softens its response and absorbs road imperfections without the harshness that typically comes with a performance spring rate setup.

Suspension Specs and Adjustment Range

The front uses McPherson strut monotube upside-down technology, positioning the damper mass lower in the assembly to reduce unsprung weight and sharpen response. The front includes a spring preload adjuster and a separate damper length adjuster, allowing ride height and spring load to be set independently. Lowering adjustment up front runs approximately 0 to 40 mm with a 60 N/mm spring rate, using the original BMW top mounts. The rear uses an aluminum monotube shock absorber with the same 0 to 40 mm adjustment range, a 120 N/mm spring rate, a spring preload adjuster, and a separate damper length adjuster, also retaining the original top mounts. The stiffer rear spring rate supports the E9x M3’s weight distribution and keeps the rear axle composed under the lateral and longitudinal loads a serious track session puts through the suspension. The broad 20-click damping adjuster gives meaningful range across the adjustment sweep, making it easier to find a setup that works for a specific track or road condition without needing to start from scratch each time.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less.
