How the DFV System Works

Öhlins’ Dual Flow Valve (DFV) technology handles the transition between road and race damping with a single adjustment. Turning the gold knob clockwise engages race mode across all four damping zones at once: low-speed compression, high-speed compression, low-speed rebound, and high-speed rebound. Reverse it and the damper returns to a relaxed road setting. No tools, no separate adjustments per corner. On track, the DFV internals respond quickly to surface changes, keeping tires loaded through corners and stable under hard braking. The 3 Series’ rear-wheel-drive layout and well-sorted weight distribution reward precise, well-damped suspension; this kit keeps the car planted and predictable at the limit while giving you more confidence to explore it. Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse.
