The Öhlins Road & Track coilover kit for the Ford Focus RS closes that gap with patented DFV technology, an inverted monotube front strut, and individually adjustable damping at all four corners. One turn of the gold knob transitions the entire damping system between a relaxed road setting and a firm track setup; no tools, no per-corner adjustments. For Focus RS models equipped with optional factory electronic dampers, an Öhlins EDC cancellation kit is available separately to prevent error codes after installation.

DFV Technology; Race Mode in One Turn

Öhlins’ Dual Flow Valve (DFV) is the core technology behind the Road & Track series. It allows damper fluid to flow consistently in both compression and rebound, enabling the tire to return to the road surface quickly after an impact. On track, this keeps the front end loaded through corners and stable under hard braking. An internal needle bleed valve also compensates for fluid viscosity changes as the damper heats up, so performance remains consistent across an entire track session without any adjustment needed.

Construction and Adjustment

The front uses McPherson strut monotube upside-down technology with a spring preload adjuster and approximately 10-30mm of lowering range at an 80N/mm spring rate, using the original top mounts.
