Which Audi B8 models does the Ohlins DFV Road & Track suspension fit?

The Ohlins DFV Road & Track suspension fits the Audi A4 and A5 (B8, B8.5) from 2008 to 2016, the Audi S4 (B8, B8.5) from 2010 to 2016, and the Audi S5 (B8, B8.5) from 2008 to 2016. It is compatible with both FWD and Quattro models. If you have questions about your specific variant, contact Bulletproof Automotive before ordering.

What does the DFV technology do for the B8 Audi platform?

DFV stands for Dual Flow Valve; an Ohlins damper design that reacts quickly to changing road and track surfaces. Across the A4, S4, A5, and S5, this delivers faster response times, better bump absorption, and more consistent grip at the limit, keeping the car stable and on line through bumps and curbs on track.

Does this kit work on both FWD and Quattro versions of the B8 A4, S4, A5, and S5?

Yes. The Ohlins DFV Road & Track coilovers are compatible with both front-wheel drive and Quattro all-wheel drive variants across the B8 and B8.5 model range.

Can I use the Ohlins Road & Track coilovers for daily driving?

Yes. The system includes a road mode for street use, providing a more relaxed and comfortable ride while still offering more grip and better response than the stock suspension.

Is the Ohlins DFV a good fit if I use my car for both track days and everyday driving?

Yes. The Ohlins DFV Road & Track coilovers are built for that exact combination. Run road mode on the drive to the circuit and switch to track mode once you arrive, with no extra hardware required.

Description

Öhlins DFV Road & Track Coilovers for B8 Audi A4 / S4 / A5 / S5

Öhlins’ DFV Road & Track Coilovers for B8 Audi A4, S4, A5 and S5 models replace all four dampers and springs with Öhlins kit AUS MS00S1, the same kit Öhlins builds for the B8 RS4 and RS5. A gold knob on each damper switches between street and track settings in seconds, and on Öhlins’ recommended setup the car sits about 15 mm lower than stock. It suits the owner who drives to the circuit and home again; a car trailered to every event wants a dedicated track damper.

Design and Performance

The Dual Flow Valve lets one adjuster shift low and high speed compression and rebound together, so road and track settings are a knob turn apart rather than a session of separate changes. Spring preload adjusters set ride height at each corner, and both ends keep the original Audi top mounts.

DFV (Dual Flow Valve) damping technology
Single 25-click knob adjusts compression and rebound together
Monotube dampers front and rear
Threaded spring preload adjusters for ride height
Uses the original top mounts front and rear
Rebuildable dampers for service and custom valving
Salt spray corrosion tested to ISO 9227
TÜV approved
2-year Öhlins warranty

Notes

Cars with factory adaptive dampers also need the Öhlins DCC Cancellation Kit
Öhlins sells the same kit for the B8 RS4 and RS5, listed separately as the Öhlins DFV Road and Track Suspension Upgrade for B8 Audi RS4 / RS5
Professional installation and a four-wheel alignment are recommended when fitting the Coilovers for B8 Audi A4 and S4 models

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need the cancellation kit with these coilovers? Only on cars with factory adaptive dampers. Öhlins lists its cancellation kit for the B8 A4, A5, S4 and S5, part 35020-19, alongside this kit to prevent fault codes once the electronic dampers come out. Cars on passive dampers do not need it.
Which cars do the Coilovers for B8 Audi A4 fit? Öhlins lists kit AUS MS00S1 for the B8 Audi A4, S4, A5 and S5, and the same kit fits the B8 RS4 and RS5. The later B9 A4 and A5 use a different Öhlins kit.
What damping setting should I use? Öhlins suggests 10 to 20 clicks for street driving, 5 to 10 for winding roads and 2 to 7 for track use. Each click changes compression and rebound together through the DFV valve, so one turn of the gold knob at each corner is all it takes to swap between road and circuit settings.
How low does the car sit on the Öhlins kit? On the Öhlins recommended preload settings the car sits about 15 mm lower than stock at both ends. Ride height is set with the spring preload adjusters, and Öhlins gives a lowering range of roughly 10 to 30 mm.
Does the kit reuse the factory top mounts? Yes. The front and rear shock absorbers both use the original Audi top mounts, and the kit includes new upper spring seats at each corner. A four-wheel alignment is still recommended after fitting, because any change in ride height alters the suspension geometry.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
