NordRing Carbon Bonnet Hood for CBA-R35 / DBA-R35 Nissan GT-R

The dry carbon NordRing original hood was developed in collaboration with Challenge Co., Ltd. This design merges aesthetics with enhanced performance, creating a striking 35 mask. The traditional intake duct bulge has been elevated by 15mm to form a more substantial intake duct, while the side and center louvers discreetly manage the engine room’s heat dissipation and presence. The aerodynamic hood features an integrated gurney, with its interior details and guidelines finished in an elegant and refined manner. Installation is straightforward, utilizing the original mounting parts, and the hood is approximately 5kg lighter than the original. During driving tests at Fuji Speedway, temperature changes in the engine room were measured, confirming improved cooling around the turbine due to the modified intake duct shape. Stability during installation and performance in straightaways and corners were also verified.

Intake Duct

• The opening area is 70% larger compared to the original CFRP intake duct and 80% larger than the stock version.

Side Louvers

• An opening on the inside of the hood guides heat from the rear of the radiator to escape through the left and right louvers.

Center Louver

• Releases heat from the upper section of the intake manifold.

Hood Gurney

• The hood-integrated gurney is engineered to enhance aerodynamics.

Water Guidelines

• To prevent water from entering the engine compartment through the louvers, water guidelines are incorporated inside the hood, directing the flow to the left and right edges.
