The Nitron elec-TRON R1 FastRoad Coilover Kit for the Type 131 Lotus Emira i4 gives road-focused drivers the same platform-specific engineering as the standard R1 FastRoad, with active damping control layered on top. The foundation is identical: four hand-built, inverted dampers with road-biased spring rates and sports valving engineered specifically around the Emira i4’s geometry, weight distribution, and suspension travel. What changes is how the damping is managed. Each shock gets a proprietary proportional solenoid valve connected to Nitron’s included DCU and monitors g-load, vehicle speed, road conditions, and driver inputs simultaneously, making independent damping adjustments at every corner every 5 milliseconds. That is 20 to 30 times faster than a human blink. The suspension is not reacting after the fact; it is tracking what the road and the driver are doing in real time and responding before the chassis has a chance to fall behind. Like the rest of the NTR range, every unit is hand-built to order using titanium and hard-anodised components, fully serviceable, and upgradeable to ClubSport or custom specifications.

Nitron’s elec-TRON system starts with a proprietary proportional solenoid valve fitted to each individual shock on the Type 131 Emira i4, giving the included DCU precise, independent damping control at every corner. The system monitors g-load, vehicle speed, road conditions, and driver inputs simultaneously, making damping adjustments every 5 milliseconds. For reference, a human eye blink takes somewhere between 100 and 150 milliseconds. That processing speed means the suspension is reacting to what the road and the driver are doing in real time, not catching up after the fact.

Standalone Electronic Damping System

The Nitron DCU is included with the elec-TRON R1 FastRoad kit for the Type 131 Emira i4. It is the brain behind the elec-TRON system, transforming a conventional passive damper setup into a precision semiactive platform. Working in conjunction with Nitron’s elec-TRON valve, the DCU continuously processes data from the car every 5 milliseconds; assessing vehicle attitude, braking forces, cornering loads, and acceleration inputs to determine the correct valve position and damping level at any given moment. The result is a suspension system that isn’t set to a fixed damping rate but is constantly optimizing grip and comfort in real time based on what the car is actually doing. The DCU is fitted with an adjustable control knob giving the driver access to a range of pre-installed damping maps; Rain, Tour, Sport, and Race; each tuned for a specific driving context. Damping continues to be adjusted continuously within whichever map is selected, so the driver sets the overall character and the system handles the rest.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse.
