Nitron Front Adjustable Top Plates for E8x BMW 1 Series

The Nitron BMW 1 Series Top Plates are for owners who’ve gone firmer on springs and dampers and now want the front alignment to stay put and be set properly. On an E8x the factory strut mount is rubber, and it offers little in the way of adjustment, so a car that’s been lowered on stiffer springs and driven hard tends to lose the alignment it was given on the rack, with the front end changing how it turns in as the session goes on. Nitron’s top plates replace that mount with a machined aluminum plate that locates the strut positively and gives adjustment for both camber and caster, which is how a rear-drive 1 Series that sees regular track days or spirited back road driving gets a front end that responds the same way every time. The plates are made for the front of the E8x BMW 1 Series and designed to work with Nitron coilovers.

Rubber-Free Construction

Rubber is what lets a set alignment drift under load, and there’s none anywhere in the design of the Nitron Front Adjustable Top Plates. With nothing compliant in the mount, hard braking and cornering have nothing to move, and positive location and adjustment mechanisms hold the camber and caster settings where they were put. The front end behaves the same on the last lap of a session as it did on the first, and the alignment set on the rack is the alignment the car actually runs.

Machined for Nitron Coilovers

Each plate is machined from high-quality aluminum and finished in Nitron’s titanium grey anodized coating, which keeps weight down and stands up to the corrosion that comes with a car that lives outdoors. The Nitron Front Adjustable Top Plates are designed for use with Nitron coilovers, so they sit naturally with the Nitron NTR-R1 and NTR-R3 kits for the 1 Series instead of working as a universal part that needs adapting.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
