Moshammer Wide Body Side Skirts for 997 Porsche 911 Carrera, Turbo & Turbo S

Moshammer Wide Body Side Skirts are for the 997 that already has the hips, the C4 and Turbo cars whose rear track the standard sill never quite acknowledges. Much wider than the factory component, they carry the underbody outward, and the wider underbody is what generates the additional downforce. Moshammer develops in Berlin to an OEM+ standard and supplies the part with a TUV parts certificate (§19.3), the sort of documentation you rarely find on bodywork of this kind. The line is deliberately quiet, a continuation of the factory shape rather than an argument with it. Delivered unpainted and made to order in small batches, for owners who understand that the best modifications are the ones nobody can name.

Design and Line

The wide body 997 is a broad shouldered car with a surprisingly narrow waist, and the standard sill leaves that contrast unresolved. These skirts widen the lower body so the flank flows from front arch to rear without a pinch in the middle, which is the difference between a car that looks wide and a car that looks whole. Nothing about the section shouts, and that is exactly why it works.

Aerodynamic Function

Because the skirts are much wider than the standard components, the underbody becomes wider, and a larger working underbody produces more downforce as speed rises. Air is kept beneath the car rather than spilling out from under the doors, which reads as stability rather than as a specification. Moshammer treats this as a performance component that happens to look right, not the other way around.

Materials and Finish

The set is supplied as a matched pair and delivered unpainted, giving your painter complete latitude over body colour, satin black or a contrast finish. A TUV parts certificate (§19.3) accompanies the part, documenting it to German road standards, which is unusual in this category and typical of Moshammer. Everything is made to order in small batches in Berlin, so each set is built for a specific car.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which 997 models take these skirts? The wide body cars, covering Carrera 4, 4S, GTS, GT2 RS, GT3 RS and Turbo models across 997.1 and 997.2.
Will they fit a narrow body Carrera? No. A narrow body C2 car has different sill geometry and needs the C2 version of the skirt.
Are they delivered painted? No. They arrive unpainted so the finish can be matched exactly to your car before fitting.
How much difference do they make to the look of the car? More than most owners expect. Because the sill is much wider than standard, the whole lower body reads as one width, which settles the proportions of an already broad car.
What is the TUV parts certificate? German documentation under §19.3 confirming the component was assessed for road use. It is not needed for registration in the United States, but it is a reliable sign of a properly engineered part.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do.
