Moshammer Tradition RS Aero Kit is aimed squarely at the narrow body 997.2, the version of the second generation 997 that many collectors now regard as the best resolved 911 of its decade. The name is not decoration: the kit’s centrepiece is a fixed ducktail, the shape the 911 has borrowed authority from since the early seventies, supported by a front spoiler, a pair of side skirts and a rear diffuser drawn for the Gen2 valance. Moshammer’s brief is optimal aerodynamic properties delivered as an OEM+ design element, which in practice means a car that looks like it left Zuffenhausen with a rarely ordered options code rather than a visit to a body shop. Each set is produced in Berlin in small numbers, supplied unpainted with the mounting material and accompanied by a TUV parts certificate (§19.3). It is the discreet route to making a narrow body Carrera unmistakable to the people who know what they are looking at.

Heritage and Design

The ducktail is the oldest piece of visual authority the 911 owns, and Moshammer uses it here as the anchor of the whole package rather than as a standalone flourish. Around it the front spoiler sharpens the lower nose, the side skirts carry the sill line along the flanks and the diffuser gives the rear valance a technical close, so the four pieces read as one design. On a narrow body car the effect is proportion rather than aggression, which is exactly why this kit suits a Carrera or Carrera S rather than a wide hipped 4S.

Aerodynamic Function

Moshammer states the set provides optimal aerodynamic properties, and the components are arranged accordingly: airflow is picked up at the front spoiler, guided along the skirts, and resolved by the diffuser and the fixed ducktail at the rear. Nothing moves, nothing requires calibration, and nothing interferes with how the car was engineered to behave. The gain is composure and coherence, not a spec sheet number.

Construction and Finish

The kit ships unpainted with its mounting material, produced in Berlin in the small batches Moshammer uses for every aero programme. Installation is at the original screw points, with a special adhesive where the design calls for it, so nothing is drilled or cut into a car that is increasingly difficult to find in unmolested condition. The set carries a TUV parts certificate (§19.3), documentation that matters as much to a future buyer as it does to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my 997.2 is a narrow body car? Narrow body covers the rear wheel drive Carrera and Carrera S; the wide body shell belongs to the Carrera 4 and 4S. If you would rather not measure, send us the VIN and we will confirm which kit your car takes.
Does the ducktail replace the factory rear spoiler? The ducktail is a fixed spoiler that gives the deck lid the traditional 911 profile, so the car no longer relies on the standard arrangement for its rear appearance. It is supplied as part of the four piece set with the mounting material included.
Is the kit suitable for a car with the factory Aerokit? No. Moshammer specifies it for cars with the standard bumpers only, and excludes the original Aerokit as well as Turbo, GTS, GT2 and GT3 bumpers.
Will fitting it damage the original bodywork? No. Components locate on the original screw points and are secured with a special adhesive where the design requires, which keeps the shell intact and the installation reversible.
Does it come with German approval documentation? Yes. A TUV parts certificate (§19.3) is supplied with the kit.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest.
