Moshammer Rear Wide Arches for W222 Mercedes-Benz S Class

Moshammer Rear Wide Arches address the W222’s one proportional shortfall: a body of real length with rear arches sitting almost flush, which leaves the car looking narrower at the hips than it is. These flares add the width the shape asks for, drawn specifically for the S Class sedan and the long wheelbase V222, AMG cars included. They are moulded in HPC, a durable material Moshammer specifies where a panel has to survive road life rather than a show stand, and a TUV material certificate is available. Supplied unpainted, they are finished by your body shop in the car’s exact colour, which is what makes the result look factory rather than added on. Made to order in Berlin in small numbers, they are a rare way to make a very familiar car look deliberately built.

Design and Proportion

The W222 is a long car whose rear arches sit close to flush with the body, and from three quarters the effect is a hip line narrower than the rest of the shape suggests. These arches correct that, adding width over the rear wheels while following the existing arch curve so the car still reads as an S Class first. Moshammer drew them specifically for the sedan and the long wheelbase V222, including the AMG models, rather than adapting a universal flare.

Materials and Finish

Each flare is moulded in high quality HPC, the material Moshammer specifies where a panel has to live with road use rather than a single photo shoot. A TUV material certificate is available for the panels. They arrive unpainted, which is the only sensible way to supply bodywork that has to match a factory colour exactly.

Paint and Fitment

Treat this as a body shop project rather than a driveway one. The arches need preparation, priming and paint in your car’s colour, then careful alignment against the existing arch and panel gaps before final fitting. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do.
