Moshammer LED Brake Light Module for 991 Porsche 911 Carrera

Moshammer LED Brake Light Module is the small part that finishes a 991 spoiler conversion properly. When the original LED third brake light is left out of the circuit, the car reports it in the instrument cluster and stores it in the fault memory; this simulation module answers that circuit so the warnings do not appear. It suits owners who cannot or would rather not have the rear spoiler coded, and who want to keep the lift function working as delivered. Moshammer builds it in Berlin alongside the rest of its made to order catalogue, and it is the least expensive way to keep a converted 991 free of faults.

What It Does

Converting to a fixed rear spoiler or ducktail leaves the original LED third brake light circuit open, and the car responds with warning messages in the cluster and entries in the fault memory. The module simulates that circuit so the messages are eliminated and the rear spoiler lift function stays active. Nothing needs to be coded and nothing about the car’s standard behaviour changes.

Installation and Wiring

The module is a two wire loop, so the wire assignment does not matter and either wire can sit on either pin. Moshammer recommends that a qualified workshop carries out the work, mainly because access to the original connector is the fiddly part rather than the wiring itself. Once connected, the module can be tucked away behind the original trim and forgotten about.

Connector Versions

The module is designed as a plug and play solution on the Porsche 992 connector. The 991 platform used two different connector versions depending on model year, and some earlier cars will not accept the module plug directly. In that case the wires are repinned, or the module connector is taken off and the two wires inserted straight into the original vehicle connector.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this let me keep the rear spoiler lift function? Yes. That is the point of it. The module clears the third brake light fault without any coding, so the spoiler lift function stays active exactly as delivered.
Will the plug fit my 991 directly? It depends on model year. The 991 platform used two connector versions, and some earlier cars need the wires repinned, or the module connector taken off so the two wires go straight into the original vehicle connector.
Does the wiring order matter? No. The circuit is a simple loop, so it makes no difference which wire sits on which pin.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest.
